Let’s say that you simply can’t spare an hour or so daily from your busy schedule to write a blog post of 300 words. Updating a tweet on Twitter might the most suitable alternative but what if Twitter’s default 140 characters isn’t enough for you? This is when eChirpy, a micro-blogging service comes in really handy. With this free tool, you’re able to create 500 character miniBlogs from your personal email, show only your most recent 5 miniBlogs and automatically tweet your followers without any hassle.
To start, simply register for an account or log in using OpenID if you’ve one. Here’s how it works. You compose an article with a maximum character count of 500 and submit it via email. The clever system will then automatically update your eChirpy profile page and Twitter account as well. If you woudl like to add some colorful pictures to your article which is filled with plain text, you can upload them as attachments.
Dubbed as “somewhere between Twitter and WordPress”, eChirpy is pretty useful especially for those who finds that 140 character isn’t enough for them but don’t want to manage a full blog which may take up quite a lot of time. Of course, this isn’t suitable for professional bloggers who intend to make a profit through blogging but mainly for people who are interested in sharing their thoughts and opinions of a particular issue. eChirpy is currently in beta and users are able to categorized their “chirps” into 5 different topics – Business, Careers, Just for fun, News and Sports & Entertainment.
