Cool down, cool down. But why the heck didn’t apple put a camera into the iPod touch? It has been confirmed that there is space for a nano camera. But wheres the frickin Camera?
Sure, the Nano’s camera sucks, but a camera is better then no camera. But it’s Apple we are talking about. After Macs gained its pristine status, Apple dare not “screw” with their high end stuff.
When I use my iPod touch, there are 3 things I want in it – a microphone, bluetooth and a camera. Apple knows this, but they know there is still milk to be squeezed out of the cow. iPod Touchs are still selling as hot as ever, so why do they need to add in the 3 “desirables”. Besides, the iPhone is always there for users who want those features.
I think the biggest question of all is why did they put a webcam and microphone into the Nano instead. It doesn’t make sense…in our thinking. To apple, it makes perfect sense. You see, every 2 years, they give us an updated OS. Tiger, Leopard and now, Snow Leopard. They have a habit of fragmenting the market up. Windows is just one in every 4 years, meaning if they step on something wrong, *ahem* vista *ahem*, they need to spend another 4 years to repair it. However, that does not mean Microsoft’s system is wrong. When Macs get updated so often, you have people who have different versions of the OS. Take my school’s FMS program. Snow Leopard is not allowed in our school as of the time of writing this, and it is all because the Apple Remote Desktop does not work properly with the new OS.
Same for iPods. 1st gen, 2nd gen, 3rd gen, and for the nano, frickin’ 5th gen, in just a few years. I have a friend with a first gen, and mine is the second. It is annoying when his iPod is slower then mine.
Also, think of it in this way- every iTouch owner will probably re-buy the iPod when the camera comes. If Apple throws the thump card on the field NOW, won’t it be too early?
But anyway, the iPod isn’t a true gaming platform. It just isn’t. $1 games? Come on. Apple’s argument that they have “so much more” games then the PSP and DS. Well, those games are $40. They ain’t simple time wasters, Apple. They are actually true games. The ipod has its place as the Nintendo Wii of portable consoles. A casual time waster which is fun, and has it own time and place. Apple, try push your marketing towards the “internet communicator” side of things. Gamers will go to the ipod by themselves… like me. (sorry for going off topic, but I might as well throw it in there.)
Let’s finish off with finding out how Hitler feels about this.(Warning, the Führer likes to swear when he is angry)
