With third-party Twitter applications such as Twiddeo and Tweetube failing to be on par with Twitpic, and video being a crucial aspect in today’s social web, the Twitter founders are now discussing on a new feature that will enable users to upload short video clips on their profiles. The upgrade will allow users to broadcast their thoughts and lives by pasting live videos on their profiles from mobile phones, laptops or other devices, as well as short text messages. By allowing video on Twitter, Biz Stone and Co. hope to make it fashionable again.
Recently, quite a number of celebrities have quit the world’s most popular micro-blogging platform. One good example would be teen singer – Miley Cyrus, who has set a precedent in the social networking celebrity Twitter world. According to sources, the Hannah Montana star confirmed that she quit Twitter to retain her privacy while Cyrus also deleted her Twitter account and explained to fans why she quit Twitter through a rap Cyrus uploaded to YouTube. Lily Allen, the British singer with 1.4m followers has signed off too. “I am a neo-Luddite, goodbye,” read Allen’s posting.
