Amidst the buzz and excitement of the recently-launched Verizon Droid by Motorola, it’s easy to forget LG GW620, the first Android smartphone from LG. Details of the LG GW620 have been leaked, with LG launching a website for the mobile which has since been taken down. However, some said they are able to access the official website, while others just can’t.
According to this French website, the GW620 has a built in Social Networking Service (SNS), which puts all of your contacts from various social networks in one list and enables you to see real-time updates. The smartphone also features a 5-row QWERTY keyboard for easy threaded SMS writing, email and Internet browsing.
The most impressive and outstanding feature the GW620 offers is face recognition, which will auto-tag faces it’s previously recognized, a highly convenient tool for social networking. It also has a 5-megapixel camera, and lots of social networking capabilities.
According to the spec sheet, the Android-powered phone will connect on dualband UMTS at 900 and 2100MHz and quadband GSM. There will be Wifi at 802.11b/g, as well as Bluetooth and USB are options for connectivity. The phone measures 109 x 54.5 x 15.9 mm and weighs 139g, slightly lighter than the Droid (169g)
