Lafable: New Social Media Site Allows Users to Post Funny Images, Videos and Articles

lafableThe founder of  TweetRofl, Tyler Plack, is rolling out a new startup called, Lafable.

Lafable is a new site that will allow users to submit funny web clips, images, or articles. It will allow users to pick what is big on the site and what is not. I interviewed Tyler to see what this site is all about. It really sounds cool.

Where did you think of the name Lafable?

-I didn’t think of the name, a friend of mine named Evan Wilson came up with the name “Lafable”.

Is this the next Digg?

-Though Lafable is a Digg-like website, it is more like a social network. For example, with Lafable, users will be able to integrate their accounts with Facebook and Twitter. Users will be able to set their accounts to update their Facebook status, or their Twitter when they submit.

What makes this site different from Digg or Delicious?

-Digg and Delicious are sites that are made mainly for news, and articles. Lafable will be for funny images, videos, or articles. Lafable will also be a lot more social than these networks.

Are you getting any investors signing on?

-We would like to keep this information undisclosed.

Who is involved in the project?

-Currently, we have Phil Splice as a project manager, Suhana as a developer (former MySpace developer), and myself as the founder. We are currently looking for a traffic analyst.

What is the main goal of Lafable?

-We want Lafable to become a website where thousands of people go every day to see the funniest of the web, and enjoy submitting.

Are there any sponsors?

-The website is in a closed pre-alpha state, as our developer has stated, so sponsorships are limited.

What makes you think Lafable will be the next big thing?

-Comedy is a large niche on the internet, but there is nowhere where all of the comedic content goes, nor any good way for a user to find a great but small comedy show. That is where Lafable will come.

Lafable is also looking for beta testers, and if you’d be interested in beta testing Lafable, please get in contact with Tyler at http://www.tplack.com/contact.php
