For those who feels bored and doesn’t has anything to do, probably you can try out an interesting weekly photo quiz created by Guess the Place. Recently launched and currently in beta, the website allows you to guess where the photograph is being taken. What makes it so special is that it offers a points system that ranks the top users who have earned a decent number of points and they will be listed under the Top 100 Hall of Fame.
Even though Guess the Place doesn’t provides complicated features, only just a simple photo quiz, it has attracted many people to join in the community, probably it’s because of the points system. Anyway, I’ve looked through this week places and I simply can’t get an accurate inference for any of the five photos. They are somehow quite tough for a kid who has not been traveling to other countries for many months! Unfortunately, top users who has scored the most points don’t receive prizes according to the FAQ page “We have no prizes to give away yet! But you can get the respect from other users”.
Users can also submit their interesting photos and some of them are grabbed from the Internet by the folks there. For each photos, it’s comment-enabled which means users are able to discussed about a particular photo by giving their thoughts and opinions. All places are categorized into Buildings, Cities, Islands, Nature, etc. It seems that photos related to buildings are the most popular on the site.
Since this is a weekly photo quiz, “you’ll have to submit your answers until the following Sunday(12:00 GMT+1)” So if you’ve some time to spare or want to try out an interesting activity, Guess the Place is the best place to do so.
