Launched two months ago, Google’s “Search Stories” YouTube channel aims to relate people’s stories through only their Google Searches. One of the most popular commercials — “Persian Love“, which features an American finding love in Paris, has garnered over 2.7 million views. However, the folks over at Google have apparently removed a rather sensitive racial phrase from its search suggestion list while filming the video. If you bother looking at the “High School” video close enough, you would notice that the “making friends with black people” option has been gotten rid of between the 8 and 9 second. On the other hand, it was listed as one of the search suggestions on Google.com. By the way, is there anything wrong with making friends with black people? I personally don’t think so but Google thinks otherwise. Maybe they just don’t want people to get the wrong impression.
