Google Images Testing Bing’s “Infinite Scroll” Feature

The U.S. based search engine juggernaut is testing a new feature for its Google Image Search. Similar to Microsoft’s Bing, the Infinite Scroll feature will enable users to have a quick and easy way to view virtually unlimited images by simply scrolling down the page. This is particularly useful as it reduces search time drastically. You don’t have to use the pagination to view more image search results. All you need to do is to just keep scrolling!

A Google spokesperson confirmed this test,

“We’re continually testing new interfaces and features to enhance the user experience. What you describe below was one such test, which only a small percentage of users saw. We don’t have any additional details to share at this time but I hope that helps. For more information on the experiments we run, please see: http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2006/04/this-is-test-this-is-only-test.html.”

Few day ago on December 11, Swainzy said in a forum that she is facing some problems with Google Image Search. She is disappointed that she can’t increase the image search results per page under the preferences page. She later added that Google “may be over riding how many images you can see on one page” and “it’s much faster and the new page stays where you were on the last page”. Apparently, it seems like Google is trying out Bing’s Infinite Scroll feature.

As a Google search addict, I’ll definitely welcome this upcoming feature as it will help me save precious time while searching images on Google. How about you?
