Without forking out money to purchase several special keyboards which suits a particular language, you can now use a newly-launched interactive and virtual keyboard on the web called LiteType. Just like the popular Gate2Home, users can easily type, search and translate in more than 50 foreign languages, without the hassles to install any additional software. Free to use and currently in beta, tise multilingual virtual keyboard offers help to those who frequently type foreign languages but simply don’t wish to paste language alphabet stickers on them.
Another advantage which LiteType provides is that it allows you to simply type in a different language without messing with the operating system settings. Also, it saves precious time because even if you can change the language in your operating system, you’ll probably find yourself in front of a keyboard with a different language layout, and you’ll have to guess the position of the keys.
Not only does LiteType acts like a virtual keyboard for users to type in text in foreign languages, there are some wonderful features which are useful to users too. For example, it comes with a UTF converter, a “Search Wikipedia” shortcut link to find information on the world’s largest web encyclopedia and even a “Google it” link to a custom Google search engine whereby you can search for articles in that language quickly and with ease.
You can also search articles on the Internet using the drop-down menu on the sidebar and it supports four main search categories “Search”, “Videos”, “Maps” and last but not least “Dictionary”. What’s more is that users can change their skins on their virtual keyboard.
LiteType is particularly useful to people who travel often or switch computers frequently.
