If you’re looking for a way to connect with people all over the world who have similar interests as you (eg. dogs, iPhone or photography), then don’t forget to check out Simler. It’s a simple and easy-to-use social networking platform which enables you to discuss one particular topic or meet people that have a lot in common with you.
The basis of the whole approach is a tagging system that lets people match up instantly, and start interchanging insights and opinions right away. After creating an account, you can start adding as many tags as you’d like, be it to describe yourself or a topic of discussion to allow you to connect with other users. The interface of the dashboard looks like any other social networking websites such as Facebook or Twitter. You can post to any tag, add friends, read your friends posts on mutual tags on the timeline, comment on posts, etc. If you’d like to start a general conversation with your friends you can post it to your profile or send private tags.
What’s so cool about Simler is that you can see the conversations that are happening on a certain tag within your geographical location as the system requires you to provide your zipcode while registering an account.
Although it’s yet another social networking website like Facebook or Twitter, but its interface is indeed superb and I kind of start to love this site. So why not give it a try and meet new friends along the way!
The site is created by Ryan Goodwin and is still in beta version.
