Don’t Just Read the News…This iPhone App Lets You Guess Them

Want to improve your finger muscles? Try the latest Tap Tap Revenge 3. Want to improve your language skills and at the same time have some fun? Well, give Guess the News a try! Developed by FingerArts, Guess the News is a newly-launched iPhone app which enables users to guess real news from the most popular news sources. You can play with top stories, nation, entertainment, sports, science, and more sections that include tens of thousands of feeds. Besides being a word game, it also provides you with latest and informative news from the US. Killing two birds with one stone? Yeah.

The main objective of this game is to complete the headline of the news shown to you by putting letters in the right position. The news, which comes in a wide variety of categories, are grabbed from several renowned and reliable news sources such as CNN, TechCrunch, US Today, New York Times and the list goes on.

Guess the News comes in two different game modes – Classic and Timed. For the classic, you can take your own sweet time and correctly match the letters. When you are done, simply pass on to the next article, gain more points, and eventually win your trophies. As for the Timed version, it’s more exciting and challenging. Gamers are required to solve the puzzle within a given time frame, or else you would have to keep on trying. There are three different levels to choose from – easy, medium and hard.

This word game is indeed an impressive and unique creation. The amount of visual polish present in Guess the News is truly outstanding. The graphics are crisp and clean with nicely smooth animations. And of course, with iPhone’s really cool touch-screen interface, it makes the game experience much livelier and interesting.

There are actually a dozen of word games in Apple’s App Store but I can confidently say that Guess the News stands out among all. It’s quite addictive, just like Tap Tap. A must-try! The game is only 99 cents until Oct 8th. After Oct 8th the game goes up to $2.99, which is still a fair price for the amount of game you are getting.
