How to Tether on Android

If you have read my posts before you have probably noticed how I always rave about Android’s application market. This thing really dominates. I found a cool application today called “PDA Net”. PDA Net allows you to tether on your Android phone.

PDA Net offers a free and paid version. The free version doesn’t allow you to visit sites with a https:// address. So really, if you are not logged in to your Youtube, for instance, you will not be able to log in while on PDA Net. You should keep signed in before you board the plane or leave the house just so you won’t run into problems. The paid version lets you browse the net without any limitations.

PDA Net is really simple to install. It requires you to install an application on your Android phone (find on the market place) and one on your computer. It will ask you to go into your phone’s settings to check a box off, having to do with USB Defragging. After that you will connect your phone, open the Android application and you will be connected to the internet.

If you are on a low data plan make sure not to use this to much, because it could show up on your bill.
